The Bangalore Birth Network (BBN) is currently:

• Translating important materials for expectant mothers into Kannada, Tamil and Hindi.
• Planning events to raise awareness about natural childbirth.
• Meeting with local doctors to promote birth options.



• Hosting Mother-to-Mother group meetings.
• Hosting yahoo group discussion forum to help professionals and consumers access locally relevant information about natural childbirth practices.
• Collecting data on birth practices in Bangalore using the Maternal Care Survey.
• Promoting training opportunities for birth professionals such as doulas, childbirth educators and lactation consultants.
• Providing training for health care practitioners in mother-friendly, evidence based practices and labor support.
• Supporting pregnant women and their families.
• Engaging in the public dialogue regarding quality of maternal health care in our state and across India.
